Congrats to Kate for her winning entry in our “Show us your toque, Canada!” contest – held in collaboration with Tourism Fernie.
“My adorable raccoon toque has made people smile all over Canada. In this picture, it’s about to go for a glide on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. It has also celebrated the Winter Carnival in Quebec City and seen sights along the sea wall in Vancouver, toured Toronto, explored Edmonton, and meandered around Montreal. Every time I wear it, people can’t help commenting on its cuteness!”
We’d also like to flag the following three honourable mentions (we’ll be in touch with all of you!)
1. “I have a big head, so my mom handmade me this toque to keep me warm in Fernie all winter long! This is a prize winner toque for sure as everyone knows a huge pom pom is essential for a mountain toque 🙂 See you on the slopes as soon as I can walk!”
2. “This toque travelled all over Canada, from Vancouver Island to Haida Gwaii, from the Rocky Mountains to the Prairies, to Ontario to PEI to Newfoundland. It experienced a canoe trip on the Bowron Lakes, it saw mountains, high winds, massive amounts of snow, beautiful sunshine. This toque is the best, it’s warm, cozy, I love the colour and the fact that it survived travelling across Canada. What a lovely toque!
3. “Wearing my Mum’s favourite wooly hat makes me so happy I flap my hands.”
Many thanks to all participants! Stand by for our next contest, coming to you this summer!
