Build a fire, stay a while

Instagrammer Lori Andrews heads to the woods

Conversations with a giant - Photo by Lori Andrews @theoriginal10cent on instagram

Note from Editor: This time last year, we visited Emerald Lake, British Columbia for a winter adventure. Our experience, which we wrote about in Frozen Beauty in Yoho National Park, was unforgettable.

Since then, we’ve occasionally partnered with Instagrammer Lori Andrews. The photographer’s refreshing, artful take on Saskatchewan’s Grasslands National Park accompanied our story Exploring Light’s Birthplace, written by Canadian poet Lorna Crozier.

In short, we enjoyed Lori’s aesthetic so much we thought we’d revisit Emerald Lake Lodge and its unbeatable location during winter, only this time with the well-known Calgary Instagrammer behind (and in front of, as it turns out!) the camera.

We hope you enjoy our mini photo exhibit inspired by this outstanding corner of Canada courtesy of Lori. Oh yah, and for the record? That would be her good-humoured husband Ken hanging out with her.

Canada is such a great place to visit to. All that wild wilderness just makes you either want to sit down and mellow, or go out and play like kids. BTW, how’s that circular knitting project I saw? My bet goes on mittens as I see a couple on the table. My favorite photo is the evening light. So serene and pristine, you just want to sit down with a cup of hot coco and watch it. Thanks for sharing!
